Objectives

Intermediate Mite is an introductory level of softball with the goal of further developing basic skills (hitting, catching, fielding and throwing).

All players bat, and rotate positions every inning.

Player pitching from 30 ft will be introduced, with assistance from coach.  All players will be expected to try pitching.

Stealing will be introduced during the season.

Coaches and parents umpire games.

Schedule

Practices Tuesday & Thursday (in April) – 60-75 mins in duration

Games Thursday (starting May), and Saturday (Noon) – 75-90 mins in duration

Pitching clinics (included in registration fee) will be on Saturday’s (11am-Noon)

Coaches

Coaches are volunteers. Each coach will depend on parent assistance for running practices and games. All parents are expected to help with management and/or organizing duties for the team.

Teams

Teams will have 9-11 players (preferred), special requests are allowed but may not always be possible

Equipment

Batting helmet (cage strongly recommended), glove, fielding face mask (strongly recommended), running shoes (plastic cleats strongly recommended)

Uniforms (shirts) are provided for the players to keep.

Locations

Most of the games will be played at McNair Park. There will be 1 or 2 games played in Vancouver or Delta.
